OUR STORY

Im SO happy you found us!! My name is Madison, and I live in the heart of North Carolina in a town called Asheboro, where the zoo is!

For as long as I can remember I have been an animal lover. Anything 4-legged I loved. I grew up riding horses and fell in love with doodles around middle school age. They were becoming such a popular breed where I live I saw them almost every time I left the house. I remember loving them for their distinct "teddy bear" look. I wanted one so bad for years and my parents never entertained the idea since I was not old enough to take care of it on my own. Fast forward to when I was in college we brought home our first doodle baby, Maverick in 2020! Our family fell in love with his goofy personality and I was hooked. I had always thought I wanted to get into breeding doodles one day but I was sold once we brought our Maverick home.

We wanted to use Maverick as a stud dog because of his loving & sweet personality and amazing structure, he would have made the perfect pups. However, he had some issues come up and we unexpectedly decided to neuter him. We then added Marlee Anne to the family and she has been the sweetest addition. Maverick and Marlee Anne are half-siblings and they absolutely love each other, they are inseparable!

We live on a 65-acre property where we love these sweet babies like children & raise Marlee Anne's pups. We hope you join the Southern Roots family and bring home one of your own fur babies. We look forward to hearing from you.
